Poor sales are the main cause when a product is discontinued. Creative is a company that has encountered this problem with its Vision:M portable PMP series. Before being taken out of the market, the player was sold for about 2 years - more than enough to gain some popularity and respect among teenagers, and not only.

Therefore, there are a lot of people who miss its attractive design, shape and specs. Hopefully, they'll be missing it no more, thanks to a Chinese copycat PMP, which brings back to life Vision:M's great features. Even better, they hid it in a shiny casing.

I don't expect Creative to have „donated" their player's interface too, therefore there were some changes in this regard.. The new PMP is unnamed for the time being.

The main features of the media player respect the ones of the ZVM, the only difference being its 1.8 inch TFT screen display, instead of the 2.5 inch screen of the ZMV. As for the player's capabilities, it can deal natively with SMV, plus the additional AVI, MPEG, MOV with specific software. Of course, it can also deal with some common file formats, such as MP3, WMA, WAV.

As for extra features, the player is said to incorporate an FM tuner, as well as USB 2.0 compatibility for the file transfer. All in all, even if the MP4 resembles with the ZMV, it comes in a smaller version, which means it is even more portable than its "original" brother. And it's serious stuff, as it incorporates flash memory instead of the usual hard disk, which we were used to.

They packed its brain in two storage capacity versions, 1GB and 2GB, respectively. And if you're wondering about the PMP's pricing and availability details, they are also a pain in the backside for Creative fellows, as Chinese stuff is the same, but retails cheaper. How cheap? Let's just say you'll look for it, since the maximum storage device can reach 45 bucks maximum. Watch out! It ships only in 12 unit packs.
