14 DAY TRIAL // Zen Studios has just confirmed that it will soon release a sequel to its hugely popular Zen Pinball title called, what else, Zen Pinball 2. What’s more, owners of the first game will be able to get it as a free update and can play on the new title all the tables they already own.
Zen Pinball delivered a top-notch experience on the PlayStation 3 back in 2009 and, since then, its developer has kept on releasing new tables as downloadable content for the experience, including special ones themed around Marvel Comics’ array of superheroes.
Now, Zen Studios is set to deliver a sequel to the experience, in the form of Zen Pinball 2.
“Zen Pinball 2 is on the way, packed full of new features and all sorts of awesome bonuses, and it will release in conjunction with the new Marvel pack,” Zen’s Zsolt Kigyossy said.
According to the developer, the intention is to bring all of the DLC and the different experiences under one virtual roof, from where owners can play whatever they want across the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita platforms.
“So, how will all of this work if you have purchased Zen Pinball or Marvel Pinball and any DLC? It’s going to be super easy! When Zen Pinball 2 releases, you will simply need to download and install a game update, and your game will be updated free of charge.”
“All of your tables will appear in one location, they will have received updated ball physics and graphics, new trophies and a much deeper social experience including in game notifications, friend challenges and even posting scores to Facebook. This free update is our way of saying “Thank You” for supporting Zen Studios and allowing us to continue work on the game we love so much.”
Those completely new to the experience will be able to download Zen Pinball 2 for free, and get to try out each table for one game. In case they really like some of them, they’ll be able to purchase their full version via the PlayStation Store.
“Simply download Zen Pinball 2, and you will have access to an amazing library of pinball tables including the brand new Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles pack, featuring tables based on Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’ Movie, ‘World War Hulk,’ ‘Fear Itself,’ and ‘The Infinity Gauntlet.’”
What’s more, all DLC purchased for Zen Pinball 2 will be available both on the PS3 and the PS Vita platforms, meaning you can play them on both platforms.
Factor in other features like in-game scoring notifications, friend challenges, sharing performances on Facebook, and even stereoscopic 3D, and Zen Pinball 2 is definitely a sharp-looking experience.
