Nintendo has taken extra care of its upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword game, which, according to its development team, is so easy to get into that even a five-year-old kid can grasp the basic controls and concept of the title.

Skyward Sword has been awaited for quite some time and it's definitely one of the last big Nintendo releases for the aging Wii, what with the company getting ready to deploy the more powerful Wii U.

Still, with many critics hailing Skyward Sword as one of the best in the already critically acclaimed series, Nintendo has emphasized one of the basic principles of the game's development, through a new session of its traditional 'Iwata Asks' segment, in which Nintendo president Satoru Iwata talks with members of his company.

In the latest segment, Iwata chats with Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma, who revealed that Skyward Sword eases players into the experience and doesn't drive anyone away with complicated controls or things like that.

"Everyone is starting from zero. It's the first Legend of Zelda game for everyone. For one thing, it begins with how to use Wii MotionPlus as a tool. And once you become accustomed to this tool, you can experience the mysterious sense of it matching the movement of your body."

Skyward Sword director Hidemaro Fujibayashi chimed in and stated that the team always focused on making the game playable by all sorts of players, even children.

"Speaking as the director, we paid constant attention this time to making the game playable even for five-year-olds or nine-year-olds. We tried to make something that would not have a setting enjoyable only by fans or something only the creators would be happy with. And more than anything, this time you can have sword fights with Wii."

Parents shouldn't forget, however, that Skyward Sword has an Everyone 10+ rating, so it might not be that great to let small kids play with it at least during the more violent scenes.
