He was trying to appear as less of a bad guy to the fans

Are you ready for more One Direction / Zayn Malik drama? Good, because I have just the thing for you: apparently, Zayn Malik took over and tweeted from producer Naughy Boy’s account to release his first demo after leaving “One Direction” because he didn’t want to be perceived as the bad guy for moving on so fast.

The drama started last week, when Zayn announced he was leaving the band after 5 years because he wanted to lead a “normal” life out of the spotlight. Imagine the confusion among fans when, only a few days later, British producer Naughty Boy tweeted a link to a SoundCloud upload including a demo from Zayn called “I Won’t Mind.”

The song has been pulled from SoundCloud, but as you can see from the video below, it’s still up on YouTube, on Zayn’s official channel no less.

Here’s where it gets tricky: Naughty Boy came under serious fire for posting the song, mostly because it seemed as if he was bragging that he’d gotten to Zayn before anyone else. To One Direction fans, the move to record new material when he claimed he wanted out for a while felt like bitter betrayal, needless to say.

Many fans believe that it was Zayn who actually released the song, using the producer’s Twitter handle to deflect negativity from himself and thus boost his odds at being successful as a solo act. Fans have concluded that from the fact that the message ended with a smiley face and an “x,” which, apparently, is Zayn’s “signature.”

And boy are they mad!

Meanwhile, reports claim that “I Won’t Mind” is actually Zayn’s bit from an unreleased 1D track, but that’s unlikely because the remaining 4 guys would have said something about it. My best guess is that Zayn is playing dirty and hoping to not get caught - and he owes his fans something better than this.
