14 DAY TRIAL // Last week, one of the biggest musical acts of the moment, British boyband One Direction, took a serious hit when one of its 5 members, Zayn Malik, announced his decision to leave because he wanted to be a “normal 22-year-old” who could live his life out of the spotlight.
The fans are yet to fully recover and many of them are already convinced that this spells the end of 1D, especially since there’s a rumor around saying Harry Styles is thinking of following suit.
However, it seems that Zayn lied about the real reason for his departure: he has absolutely no intention of staying out of the spotlight.
Zayn lied, he wants to go solo
It’s not uncommon for big acts to disband when one or more of the members decide to pursue a solo career for a change, but in most cases, there’s honesty in the announcement for the fans.
Zayn claimed that he being in 1D was too much and that he just wanted some time off to enjoy his life in relative anonymity, but he’s already working on his next gig: that’s right, sources confirm for People magazine that he’s in talks for a solo music career.
“He told everyone in the band and management that he wants to live a normal life and the next thing you know he’s going into music studios and doing interviews with tabloids,” says one such spy. “Everyone feels a bit misled and thinks he was lying about wanting to live a normal life.”
The Daily Mail has photos of Zayn and producer Naughty Boy at a recording studio in London over the weekend: if he was really planning to take a break for a while, why would he be there? The only explanation for it is that he’s working on new material on his own.
The One Direction boys are heartbroken
The remaining members of the band, Harry, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson, are heartbroken: not only do they have to keep performing as 1D after losing their best friend but now they must also come to terms with his betrayal.
Moreover, People’s insiders reveal, they believed him when he told them he just wanted some time for himself and are having a very difficult time understanding why he would lie to them like this.
It could be that he’s surrounded himself with the wrong type of people and that they told him to leave the band and lie about the reason. That would definitely not be a first in the history of music, if you think about it.
