The faster, the hotter, and RAM memory is no exception to that

Contrary to popular belief, it's not the processor to dictate the computer's pace. More and more people tend to underestimate the power of a small, yet important part of our computers: the RAM memory. Plenty of RAM would allow your computer purr at will, although it is not rigged with the latest Core 2 Quad processor. Unlike average users, gamers need plenty of everything: faster processors, faster hard-drives and faster memory cards.

In a world where you are not hot unless you're fast (pun intended) cooling solutions are a true overclockers' friend. There are chipset coolers, GPU and CPU coolers. The guys at Zaward have just unveiled their RAM card cooler, a special product designed for the professional gamers and hardcore computing users.

The Zaward RAM cooler is more than a passive aluminum casing to coat a RAM memory module. It is comprised of a heatsink and an ultra-silent fan to ensure proper heat dissipation. The user will obtain a performance gain of around 15 degrees Celsius as compared to the classic, passive aluminum coolers. When talking about high performance systems, any extra Celsius degree can impact over the computer's stability and reliability.

The fan is positioned vertically, above the memory module. This design prevents electrostatic accumulation of dust that comes with the airflow. Moreover, the vertical positioning also protects the memory modules within the chassis. The fan is carefully built to eliminate electrical or magnetic interference.

The thermal pads can house all the memory types both thin and thick size. They are compatible with SDRAM/DDR/DDR2/DDR3 and Single/Double-sided memory modules. The device can support up to four memory modules, but for increased efficiency, the memory cooler's fans must face opposite directions, facing outside.

The package contains two coolers for dual-memory-module systems. There is no word on pricing or market availability, but the memory coolers are sure to be seen at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
