3D is definitely becoming more and more widespread if companies that normally focus on cooling technology start making their own 3D monitors. Zalman already has a name for itself on the cooling and cases markets, but this hasn't stopped it from making a number of 3D displays over time. As other display manufacturers, the company likely wants to grab a good share of the market now that it's still in its beginning stages. As such, it has developed a fresh 3D monitor, known as the ZM-M215W.

The new display will be the successor to the 19-inch ZM-M190 (discontinued) and the 22-inch ZM-M220W. Basically, it is a black 21.5-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) measuring 531 x 382 x 200mm.

Its image quality is significant, as its TN panel supports the Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and uses the 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. Furthermore, the display has a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m2, which provides the image clarity required by high-definition videos.

The display's digital input signal has a horizontal frequency of 30 ~ 83 KHz, while vertical frequency is of 56 ~ 75 Hz. The other specifications of the Zalman ZM-M215W 3D monitor include a weight of four kilograms, a response time of 5ms, a power consumption of up to 40W, 15pin D-Sub / DVI / Audio Inputs, a 2D viewing angle of 170°(Horizontal) / 160°(Vertical) and a 3D viewing angle of 90°(Horizontal) / 10 ~ 12°(Vertical).

In order to allow end-users to easily switch between 2D and 3D modes, the monitor has a special toggle key. The device also boasts a 3D stereoscopic player and should become available in Europe soon. It is backed by a two-year warranty and will supposedly have a price tag of 265 Euro.

This is partly wrong, the Zalman is not a 120Hz display, but a standard 60Hz one. It doesn't use active shutter glasses (where 120Hz is required), but passive polarized ones.

All 3D has a minimum requirement of 100hz. We see in 60hz per eye. Cinema Passive lenses drops that to 30 or 50 hz per eye.

The refresh rates on Zalman's website have a horizontal and vertical hz rating. Surely you combine these?

Youve got it wrong, it does not use 120Hz technology, look at the zalman website
