The market may be swarming with a host of HDD or SSD enclosures, but for those that want to more easily connect and disconnect a HDD externally, docking stations often serve best, and Zalman thought it would provide a pair, namely the ZM-MH200 U3 and ZM-MH200 HUB.

Like most, if not all, products of their type, the ZM-MH200 U3 and ZM-MH200 HUB are designed for the purpose of allowing SATA hard disks to externally communicate with a personal computer.

What the two have over some of their rivals is that they can cope with not just one, but two distinct such drives, either of which can use the 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch form factor.

The ZM-MH200 HUB connects to the system through the eSATA or USB interface, whereas the ZM-MH200 U3, as the more capable one, actually benefits from the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 standard.

For those in need of a reminder, the USB 3.0 interface is ten times faster than USB 2.0, meaning it has a theoretical maximum throughput of about 5 Gbps (4.8 Gbps to be exact).

Furthermore, to expand the functionality of its device, Zalman threw in a pair of USB 2.0 expansion ports, as well as a microSD and an SD/SDHC reader on the HUB.

As for the U3, it boasts GPM (Green Power Management) and supports RAID 0, RAID 1, JBOD, DUAL mode.

As a bonus, the company made its dual-HDD Docking Station capable of Hot Swap and Plug and Play, as well as able to indicate the drives' status by means of a LED indicator.

The ZM-MH200 U3 and ZM-MH200 HUB will sell for 62.90 Euro and 58.90 Euro, respectively.

Finally, in terms of design, the release states that “it has beautiful and sleek appearance to be perfectly matched for any working places.[For those] looking for a Dual HDD Docking Station with state of the art technologies and great features, the MH200 series will be a perfect choice.”
