As photos from the set of the upcoming “Batman v Superman” film are landing online, director Zack Snyder is following up on his weird fantasy involving Batman and Star Wars. The first photo he released was during Comic Con, when he dressed up Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, as a Jedi.

Over the weekend, Snyder published another photo on his Twitter feed, and this time it was with Batman. By the superhero's side was the famous robot R2D2 and they appeared to be walking on the desert planet Tatooine.

The photo was captioned “BATMAN & R2BIN,” a play of words on the name of the two characters. Fans are now baffled as to why exactly Snyder is trying to mix the two franchises together and to what end.

As fans and comic book aficionados try to get to the bottom of this, the general consensus between those involved in both projects is that Snyder is simply trolling his fans, pulling their proverbial leg collectively, so to speak, just trying to get a rise out of the public.

J.J. Abrams, director for the latest Star Wars movie, proceeded in a similar manner, leaking material from his own film and set and then pretending to be angry about it. Just saying, don't get your hopes up, or you're going to be disappointed.
