Zack Snyder can finally call Warner Bros. his home: after directing the Superman reboot “Man of Steel” for them and landing the job to helm the upcoming sequel “Batman vs. Superman,” the studio has just confirmed that he will also be directing the “Justice League” movie.

“Justice League” aims to be for Warners what the Avengers franchise is for Marvel and Disney, with “Man of Steel” being just the first stone added to its foundation. With the introduction of Batman and Wonder Woman in the franchise with the sequel, the studio is thinking the time is right for the long-promised “Justice League” movie at last.

And Warners wants Snyder to be on board for that one too, Warner Bros. president of worldwide production Greg Silverman tells the Wall Street Journal. “It will be a further expansion of this universe. Superman vs. Batman will lead into Justice League,” he says.

Of course, fans already suspected that, but what they didn’t know until now was that Snyder would be back to helm that one too.

Among lots of reports that “Justice League” won’t be out sooner than 2018, seeing how Warners doesn’t even have a script done yet, The Hollywood Reporter claims to have it on very good authority that it “could bow in 2017, a year after Superman vs. Batman, which is set to hit theaters May 6, 2016. The movies will be shot back-to-back.”

In other words, Warner is looking at Marvel for inspiration with the release schedule and will probably have a new installment in the new franchise out each summer. Fingers crossed a Wonder Woman film will be next.
