Zachary Quinto, best known for his work as Spock in the Star Trek rebooted universe, is set to join the cast of the new movie based on the Hitman franchise, called Agent 47.

Earlier this month it was announced that Rupert Friend, an actor that gained notoriety after appearing in the TV series Homeland, would replace the deceased Paul Walker in the leading role.

Deadline says that the movie will begin the shooting process in March and that the directorial duties will be handled by Aleksander Bach with the script created by Skip Woods and Michael Finch.

The companies working on Agent 47 have not offered any details on the plot of the film or on whether they plan to take any direct inspiration from the video games starring the fictional hero.

The first movie was launched in 2007 and managed to get close to 100 million dollars (76 million Euro) in revenue.

Square Enix is already planning a new title in the video games franchise.
