Zach Galifianakis just picked a fight with a female star known to be quite sharp-tongued behind the scenes, and very mean as well. In a recent interview, the “Hangover 2” star slammed January Jones of “Mad Men.”

Galifianakis sat down with TheShortList for an interview to promote his latest comedy and, since they were on the topic of comedies, the reported asked him about a comment January Jones once made about how he was the funniest man in showbiz.

For some reason or another, Zach saw this as an opportunity to slam the actress.

“That’s funny because, If I remember correctly, she and I were very rude to each other. It was crazy,” he recalled.

The feeling of animosity seems to stem from their first encounter, when Jones reportedly acted like a diva around Zach, which, understandably, he did not appreciate.

“I was at a party – I’d never met her – and she was like, ‘Come sit down.’ So I sit at her table, and [we] talk for ten minutes, and she goes, ‘I think it’s time for you to leave now’,” Galifianakis explains.

It wasn’t so much that he was asked to leave that bothered him, but rather the fact that Jones couldn’t find it in her to be nice to a fellow actor.

“So I say, ‘January, you are an actress in a show and everybody’s going to forget about you in a few years, so [expletive]-ing be nice,’ and I got up and left. And she thinks that’s funny?” he asks.

In the same interview, he also rejects even the idea of doing a love scene with January, which has gotten many people thinking that whatever these two have to share, it runs deep.

“I wouldn’t want to. I’d hate it. I’ve only had to do a few of those things where you have to kiss and stuff. It’s so embarrassing,” Galifianakis says of doing love scenes in general.

So far, Jones has not commented in any way on Galifianakis’ “be nice because you’ll be gone tomorrow either way” remark. Seeing how she’s now pregnant with her first child, it’s easy to assume she’s got more important things to do right now.
