This could be turning into a trend: after James Franco, Zach Galifianakis is the latest male star to get into women’s clothes and makeup to pose for a picture. Galifianakis is in Vanity Fair, promoting “Due Date.”

The actor, who’s made quite a name for himself with the blockbuster “The Hangover” (but not only), dons a fiery red one-piece swimsuit for the latest issue of the magazine, while also striking some very girlie poses.

Of course, the fact that he’s hairy all over and even has a 5 o’clock shadow is not helping with the lipstick and the “delicate” manner in which he places his arms on his body in the pics.

Speaking about his upcoming film, “Due Date,” one of the five films E! Online recommends as must-sees for the fall of 2010, Galifianakis dishes some dirt on co-star Robert Downey Jr.

“[Robert] told me in front of 45 extras that I needed acting classes. I like to call him ‘another Irish mistake’,” the actor jokes.

Aside from the photospread in the red swimsuit, Galifianakis’ resume is featured with the Vanity “openers,” up-and-coming stars who have a highly anticipated project in the pipeline.

Safe to say, it’s quite an interesting read: he’s “ageless” and hails from “Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Hello, country bumpkin,” Vanity writes.

“Back in the 90s, this comely former North Carolina State coed decamped to New York City with an eye toward parlaying his fresh-faced good looks into pay dirt. When the modeling didn’t work out, he says, he gave stand-up a try,” the resume reads.

He traveled to LA, but competition was tight and Zach also had the disadvantage of not knowing anyone in the city, which made things very difficult for him, VF says.

And then he met Todd Phillip.

“This month, in his second film with Hangover director Phillips (his third, currently filming, is The Hangover 2), Galifianakis stars in the road-trip buddy picture Due Date alongside Robert Downey Jr.,” the resume further reads.

In other Zach Galifianakis news, below is his latest “Between Two Ferns” video for Funny or Die, in which he “interviews” Bruce Willis. “Due Date” is out on November 5.
