14 DAY TRIAL // Skid Row is a rough area of Los Angeles and is certainly not the place you'd want to end up after nightfall. But that is exactly where actor Zac Efron was caught on Sunday, March 23, just after midnight. The 26-year-old actor also managed to get into a fight, and now police are saying he left with a bruised face.
TMZ is reporting that the “Neighbors” actor was inexplicably roaming around Skid Row on Sunday night when he got violently punched in the mouth by a transient homeless man. The report of the incident comes from the police, as two officers were patrolling the area when the fight broke out and put an end to it.
According to the reports, officers were patrolling the Harbor Freeway and saw Zac and another man later identified as his bodyguard as they got into a full-blown melee with at least three other people.
After they went over and broke up the scuffle, police questioned the now dazed actor who claimed that they had run out of gas and were waiting in the car. He added that, while they looking for the tow truck, he threw a bottle out of the window, not mentioning what was in the bottle, and it landed near a group of transient people.
These men saw the bottle throwing as an act of aggression and immediately attacked the car. When his bodyguard came out, they got into a fight with him. Then, as Zac stepped out to help, he hot punched in the mouth.
“It was the hardest I've ever been hit in my life,” Zac later recalled. It's not known what Efron was doing in such a rough part of the city where police are on constant alert for drug deals and gang activity, but a source claims that Zac was “obviously intoxicated.”
If you remember, Efron mysteriously broke his jaw back in November from a freak home accident, or so it was claimed. He told the press that he had broken his jaw by slipping on a pool of water in his home. However, it should be mentioned that Efron went to rehab twice last year for cocaine abuse.
Finally, no arrests were made in the case, as police present at the scene viewed the entire matter as “mutual combat.” No charges were pressed, and the only thing broken this time was Efron's ego, as he got clocked in the jaw once more.
