Among the many actors that have been rumored to be part of the casting process on the latest installment of the “Star Wars” saga, one name has just been officially, confirmed. Zac Efron gave the news away during an MTV talk show.

The “The Awkward Moment” actor was playing a game of “most likely to” with Josh Horowitz on MTV when he was asked which of the film's stars would be most likely to be cast in a “Star Wars” movie. Zac conceded that he was in talks.

Efron admitted that he met with the people at Disney but that he has no clue as to the outcome of the discussion. “Yeah, I just went and met with them. So I don't know. It would be cool. I love [the "Star Wars" movies], I love them, but … who knows?,” Efron said.

Among some of the other names that have been linked with the casting process were Leonardo DiCaprio who seems to have passed on the opportunity in favor of the movie “Robotech” and Ryan Gosling, but his representatives have denied the news.

“Star Wars: Episode VII” is billed as a vital moment for the series, that will see it return to its original darker mood. The movie is scheduled to be released on December 18, 2015.
