Chinese mobile phone maker ZTE is reportedly gearing up for the launch of its own handset running under Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 8 operating system, and might pack some highly appealing hardware inside it.

According to the latest rumors on the matter, the upcoming device might hit shelves with a full HD screen on the front, something that no other Windows Phone 8 handset has been announced with until now.

Apparently, a ZTE employee has let the new smartphone leak online on Weibo, and also let it slip that the handset would boast an impressive screen resolution.

The handset is rumored to land on shelves with a 5.9-inch screen with Full HD 1080p (1920x1080), which would make it the first phablet in the world to run Windows Phone OS.

With no official confirmation on this, we’ll take the info with a grain of salt for the time being.
