Chinese mobile phone maker ZTE is reportedly getting ready for the launch of a new tablet PC, one that might hit shelves with Google’s Android platform loaded on top right from the start.

The new device is said to feature a 7-inch touchscreen display on the front, and to sport the model number V72A, while packing pretty decent hardware specifications inside.

Although no official confirmation on the tablet PC’s existence has emerged so far, recent reports suggest that it should be officially unveiled in the not too distant future.

The slate should be powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8225 processor, paired with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

It is also said to be packing an Adreno 203 GPU, along with a 2-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and a VGA camera on the front, for making video calls.

The specs list of this device also shows a 1024 x 600 pixels resolution for the 7-inch LCD screen, 3G / HSPA connectivity, Wi-Fi n, Bluetooth, micro USB, and HDMI port, and a 4000 mAh battery.

The ZTE V72A is also said to measure 193 x 127 x 11.3 mm and to weigh 418 grams. It should arrive on the market with the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean platform loaded on top right from the beginning, rumor has it.

Overall, the slate should prove a rather decent product when made available for purchase, though it still remains to be seen when exactly that will happen and whether the specs mentioned above, available courtesy of techblog.gr, will make it in the device or not.

In the meantime, you can have a look at the photo allegedly showing the upcoming tablet PC, which was published on the same news site.
