Sprint's prepay carrier Boost Mobile has just announced the upcoming availability of ZTE Warp Android smartphone.

Boost Mobile's first ZTE smartphone is expected to go live on November 2 for $249.99 (182 EUR), excluding taxes.

It will be available at the carrier's exclusive retail stores, as well as select independent wireless dealer locations across the country.

The handset boasts a large 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 16 million colors support and runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform.

ZTE Warp is equipped with a single core 1 GHz processor and packs a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording capabilities.

There are no mentions about the storage amount, but the smartphone embeds a microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Boost Mobile is very excited to partner with one of the fastest growing and largest handset makers in the world, to introduce the ZTE Warp. ZTE Warp delivers a powerful Android device for Boost Mobile customers searching for a big screen experience to capture and view higher quality photos and video,” said Andre Smith, vice president-Boost Mobile.

Software-wise, the handset comes pre-loaded with the carrier's Mobile ID exclusive service that enables customers the possibility to download and install “ID packs,” which are similar to Sprint's ID packs.

These packs allow users to customize their phones with new apps, widgets, ringtones and wallpapers, in a few simple clicks.

Multiple ID packs can be downloaded and installed on the phone, including MTV Music Pack, E!, Socially Connected, Professional, Entertainment, Lo2Yo Latino, Lo2Yo Mujer and Lo2Yo Futbol.

In addition, ZTE Warp is the first Android device in the Boost Mobile lineup that comes with the ‘Boost Zone’ app, which allows customers to access their account, pay their bill, and get support for their phone.

However, according to the carrier, the Boost Zone app will soon be available for all Android devices in its portfolio.
