Chinese mobile phone maker ZTE appears to be working on a new device that would sport the same design principles as the newly unveiled Grand S, one that was spotted online as the ZTE V987.

The new handset features the same large 5-inch screen as the new flagship phone from the company, only that it can deliver a smaller, 720p resolution.

The device also sports a 1.2GHz quad-core processor inside, along with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and dual-SIM support (WCDMA and GSM).

Furthermore, the new smartphone comes with a 2,500 mAh battery inside, larger than the 1,780mAh cell included in Grand S, Engadget notes.

The ZTE V987 was recently approved in China, which means that it might arrive on the market in the not too distant future, so stay tuned.
