It may be to early to talk about quad-core processors for tablets, but Chinese handset manufacturer ZTE dares Android enthusiasts with the unannounced ZTE US slate allegedly powered by a 1 GHz quad-core processor.

The tablet surfaced in Asia courtesy to the guys over at PocketDroid, who managed to take a few shots of the device, along with its technical specs.

Unfortunately, details about the ZTE US are scarce at the moment, but rumors has it that the slate will be released with a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display and NFC support.

In addition, the slate should feature a 5-megapixel main camera on the back, 32GB of internal memory, and a high capacity 3250mAh battery.

According to the tablet's specs sheet, ZTE US should be delivered with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board, but we doubt this will be the case.
