Chinese mobile phone maker ZTE appears to be nearing the official unveiling of its Windows Phone 8 smartphones.

The company was already expected to bring to the market phones powered by Microsoft’s new operating system, yet no specific info on when they might have been planned for launch has been provided as of yet.

Last week, however, Dennis Lui, ZTE’s phone marketing strategy manager, posted on Twitter a photo that appears to be showing the company’s future Windows Phone devices, winp.cn reports.

Moreover, Lui mentions both Windows Phone 7.8 and Windows Phone 8 related to the photo, thus suggesting that existing handsets are about to receive an update too. New smartphones powered by WP7.8 could also be in the pipeline at the company.

Unfortunately, specific info on what these devices would be still has to emerge. Hopefully, it won’t take long for that to happen.
