Chinese handset maker announced its first Windows Phone device back in September, the ZTE Tania. Two months after its official announcement, the smartphone hits shelves in France.

Microsoft fans can now purchase the ZTE Tania from French carrier SFR for as low as €9.9 (13.5 USD) with a new two-year contract, or for a suggested retail price of €270 (365 USD).

It looks like the ZTE Tania is among the cheapest Mango-based smartphones available in the market, but this will not ensure its popularity among customers.

According to the folks over at UnwiredView, the smartphone will not be retailed with the ZTE branding, instead it will be delivered with the Windows Phone logo on both front and back sides of the smartphone.

Surprisingly for a mid-budget device, the ZTE Tania is pretty sleek and stylish. It's only 10.7mm thick and weighs around 160g (battery included).

Furthermore, the smartphone comes with a large 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen that supports 65k colors and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

Aside the standard touch-sensitive controls, ZTE Tania has a range of sensors, including proximity sensor for auto turn-off, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and ambient light sensor.

ZTE Tania is a second-tier Windows Phone smartphone and packs a single core 1GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal memory.

As with all other Windows Phone devices, ZTE Tania lacks a microSD card slot for memory expansion, so hopefully, the on-board memory will be enough.

In the connectivity front, the ZTE Tania is packed with all kinds of technologies, including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR support, built-in GPS and microUSB.

According to the French carrier, the smartphone's battery 1400 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide up to 4 hours of talk time or up to 8 days of standby time.
