Mobile phone carrier Orange UK has added a new Android-powered handset to its coming-soon page, the Orange Monte Carlo, which is said to be none other than the ZTE Skate device that went official in February during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Just as previously announced, the new device will come with the same specifications that it was unveiled with in the first place, except for a series of small modifications that make it fit for the Orange network and branding.

The device was launched with a large 4.3'' screen, with a fast 800MHz application processor inside, a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and more.

“Live the high life with the Monte Carlo from Orange. The top of the range 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen will amaze your friends and you can capture some wonderful photos with the 5-megapixel camera,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.

“A host of apps are available to enhance your phone via the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and you can stay in touch with everyone via email using the 3G+ data speeds.”

The new Monte Carlo from Orange is also expected to arrive on the market with support for the wireless carrier's 3G network, as well as with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, and with a built-in GPS receiver. It sports Signal Boost (UMA) and HD Voice as well.

Other features of the new handset include the ability to record and playback videos, FM radio and MP3 player, photo messaging, pop3/imap4 email, Orange Wednesday apps and Orange Maps, as well as access to the Orange App Store.

The Android-based mobile phone measures 10.4mm x 125.9mm x 67.8mm and packs a battery that can deliver up to 5 hours of talk time, or up to 12 days of standby time.

As stated above, the new device is already listed on Orange's coming soon page, and should be released for the carrier's pay as you go users, but no info on the pricing has emerged until now.
