They will arrive on shelves with 3G / LTE connectivity, carrier dependant

Today, Chinese mobile phone maker ZTE has made official two new smartphones running under Google’s Android operating system, namely the ZTE Nubia Z5S and Nubia Z5S mini.

The new smartphones are meant mainly for the mid-level market, and they should be launched both in China and overseas, as the company is aiming at establishing itself as one of the leading handset vendors out there.

The new ZTE Nubia Z5S will land on shelves with a 1080p Sharp IGZO display, while being powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor.

Furthermore, the device packs 2GB of RAM, 16GB / 32GB of internal memory, and Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top.

The specifications list of this device also includes a 13-megapixel rear camera, with f/2.0 aperture camera with OIS and 4K video capture, as well as a 5-megapixel front camera, great for making video calls while on the go.

ZTE Nubia Z5S also sports 3G/LTE connectivity capabilities, Wi-Fi Dual band (2.4GHz and 5GHz), and a 2300 mAh battery. The phone measures 137.7 x 68.8 x 7.6mm and weighs 126 grams.

As UnwiredView notes, the 3G 16GB variant of ZTE Nubia 5S will be launched with a price tag of 1,999 Yuan ($328/€243) in China, while the 32GB LTE flavor will cost 3,456 Yuan ($567/€420).

The smaller Nubia Z5S mini packs a 1.7 GHz Snapdragon processor inside, along with 2GB of RAM, and the same 16GB / 32GB internal memory options. 3G / LTE connectivity was also included inside it, carrier dependant.

The handset also features a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5MP front camera, along with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. However, it weighs only 120 grams.

Users interested in purchasing the ZTE Nubia Z5S mini will have to pay 1,499 Yuan ($246/€182) for the 3G model with 16GB of internal memory. The 32GB LTE version will be priced at 2,345 Yuan ($348/€243).
