Chinese manufacturer ZTE recently announced the launch of its latest touch screen Android tablet, ZTE Light. The tablet is showcased at “Beijing Exhibition”, and promises to bring various distinct features in a slim and light weight form factor.

Even though it's not known for its Android devices, ZTE insists on this path and throws in yet another Android smartphone, this time a tablet that features all the basics.

ZTE Light comes with a 7-inch TFT touchscreen and weighs about 403g (including battery). ZTE Light is the fist Android tablet made by the Chinese manufacturer and seems more like a device targeting the mid-budget smartphone market.

The tablet is dual-band compatible (UMTS 2100 Mhz / 900 Mhz), but users will also be able to take advantage of the HSDPA/HSUPA network with data transfer speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and an upload speed of up to5.76 Mbps.

The device runs on the Android 2.1 platform and embeds 512 Mb RAM and 512 Mb ROM memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

ZTE Light fully supports various Google Services, multiple email accounts, desktop widget applications, as well as online document reading and editing features.

As an entertainment device, ZTE Light can make difference thanks to its large touchscreen and G-sensor, which supports various multimedia and games.

Other key features of the Android tablet include: GPS with AGPS support, Wi-Fi, Music and video player with Mp4 support, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DPP support, 3.5mm stereo headset and up to 10 hours of working battery time.

ZTE Light also sports a standard 3.0-megapixel camera, that lacks flash and autofocus.

There's no word on its exact launching date or price, but the fact that it is already showcased makes us believe that ZTE Light will be available in China by the end of the month.
