Leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions ZTE Corporation announced today at the 2010 GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona the launch of ZTE Bingo, an ultra-slim big-screen BMP 3G smartphone, as well as the showcasing of 5 Android handset models at the event. According to the company, it now offers a wider range of smartphone solutions to users, including those running under Linux, Windows Mobile and OMS-platform.

The new ZTE Bingo comes to the market with Qualcomm’s Brew Mobile Platform (BMP) platform on board, which offers it high-end functionality, and also sports support for Adobe Flash, the company notes. Thus, users will be able to enjoy advanced features on their devices, including touchscreen capabilities, multimedia functionality, window management, or open platform scalability. The slim and stylish ZTE Bingo includes support for HSDPA 7.2Mbps, accelerometer, a new dynamic UI for an enhanced experience, a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, A-GPS, a 5-megapixel photo snapper, built in MSN, Google map, Facebook and other apps, and more other features.

“With the development of the communication industry, smartphones will become more popular. Goldman Sachs analyst shows that smartphone sales will grow by 38% in 2010. In Europe and even worldwide, smartphones will become a very important development direction for ZTE in 2010,” said Mr. Lin Qiang, president of ZTE’s Mobile Phone Operation Department in Europe, stressing the importance of smartphones. Moreover, ZTE also notes that it is already involved in the development of solutions for Windows Mobile, Symbian, Android, OMS, BMP and other operating systems, and that it can meet the needs of various customer levels through different configurations.

In addition, the company announced that it had established European-specific strategies and R&D teams, as well as a service platform development center, along with comprehensive feedback and after-sales support programs specifically for European consumers, so as to provide enhanced support for its users in Europe.
