Virgin Mobile and ZTE confirmed in mid-July that the Grand X smartphone would be launched in the UK in early August. However, the carrier delayed the release of the device for unknown reasons.

Today, the UK-based operator has announced the ZTE Grand X is available for purchase for 200 GBP (315 USD or 255 EUR) outright.

Customers who buy the ZTE Grand X will also receive 12 months of free mobile data, along with 10 GBP of talk time and 300 SMS. Check it out here.

The ZTE Grand X has already been released in the UK in late July and is currently available for purchase via Phones4U for 190 GBP (300 USD or 240 EUR) outright.

Although the smartphone was initially announced as ZTE Mimosa X, the Chinese handset maker decided to launch it as ZTE Grand X.

The device is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box and packs a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor clocked at 1 GHz, which is complemented by an ULP GeForce graphics processing unit.

In addition, the smartphone embeds 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

ZTE Grand X sports a large 4.3-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

There’s also a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Dolby mobile sound enhancement technology is included as well, along with HSDPA (21 Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76 Mbps) support.

Last but not least, ZTE Grand X comes with Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
