The handset should sport a 5-inch full HD screen, 1.5GHz quad-core CPU

Chinese mobile phone maker ZTE has officially confirmed plans to make its long-rumored Grand S smartphone official this week at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The company took to Twitter to confirm its plans on the matter. “The ZTE Grand S will be unveiled at CES 2013 in Las Vegas on January 8th,” a tweet from ZTE reads.

ZTE Grand S is rumored to arrive on shelves with a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor packed inside, 2GB of RAM, and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform loaded on top.

It is also said to sport a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of a 1080p resolution and a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, while being only 6.9 mm thin. Specific info on the handset’s availability and pricing will be unveiled soon, so stay tuned.
