Chinese mobile phone maker ZTE is set to launch some more Windows Phone-based smartphones, and it will do so as soon as the next year, after Microsoft competes the acquisition of Nokia.

The company has already confirmed plans on the matter, though no specific info on when the upcoming Windows Phone devices might be launched has been provided.

However, ZTE’s Executive Vice-President He Shiyou did say that the vendor was committed to Windows Phone despite the change in landscape that will occur when the Microsoft-Nokia deal is over, Financial Times reports.

For those out of the loop, we should note that ZTE has launched two Windows Phone devices so far, in the form of ZTE Tania and ZTE Orbit, both of which run under Windows Phone 7.5 at the moment.

Hopefully, it won’t be long before the handset vendor provides us with some more info on its plans for Microsoft’s OS, so stay tuned to learn the news.
