ZTE’s new smartphone will probably launch soon

If you have your eyes set on the iPhone 6, but you’re put off by its ridiculous price tag, the solution is to look towards China.

That’s because Chinese OEMs offer a rich collection of iPhone rip-offs. If there’s one place to go looking for iPhone clones with decent specifications and average price tags, China is the place to go looking.

ZTE is prepping to launch an iPhone-lookalike

Well, one of these blatant copies has just leaked online coming in the form of the ZTE Blade S6. The handset has not been launched yet, but will probably go on sale soon enough.

The ZTE Blade S6 leaked before, although back then the model went by the name of Q7. Also it was believed that the handset will take advantage of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 615 platform, but as it turns out this might not actually be the case.

It’s possible that ZTE chose to go with another alternative, since we have been hearing persistent rumors that Qualcomm will be forced to delay the Snapdragon 615 and Snapdragon 810 due to overheating issues that can’t seem to find an immediate fix.

So according to the latest info revealed by Giz China, the ZTE Blade S6 will take advantage of a 64-bit MediaTek processor with LTE support instead (possible options include the MT6732 or MT6752).

Apart from that, the smartphone is expected to make a debut with a 5.5-inch HD display, 8MP rear-facing camera plus 2GB of RAM.

The specs of the phablet are nothing too spectacular, but if you want to the iPhone-look, this might be the way to go. Especially since the handset will most likely go on sale with an acceptable rate, compared to Apple’s beast.

However, for the time being pricing specifications and availability details remain a mystery.
