They have neodymium speakers and an oxygen-free copper cable

One thing that the world never seems to have too many of is audio devices, particularly peripherals that bring high-quality sound straight to their ears. ZOWIE GEAR has just released a new headset.

Well, that's not altogether true, since the company didn't exactly make a new headset. More like it refashioned an existing one.

Basically, ZOWIE took the MASHU headphone set and colored it white, just in time for winter and Christmas, or Yule or whatever other holiday you happen to celebrate during this period.

Then again, ZOWIE would not have bothered recoloring the headset if it hadn't been a very high-quality product.

It would not really have been “worthy” of welcoming winter on the company's behalf after all.

First off, the ZOWIE MASHU has large, over-the-ear earcups, which snugly block off your hearing from the outside world.

The cushions are large enough that nothing is pressing on your earlobes, ever, so you don't have to worry about aches after prolonged use. In fact, the cups auto-adjust in four directions.

The speakers are made with neodymium magnets and, combined with the directional sound system, ensure a good clarity and sound intensity.

ZOWIE also outfitted the MASHU with a unidirectional microphone and a 99.999% Oxygen-Free Copper cable (OFC), which clearly and precisely transmits voice.

Sales should begin next month (December 2013), before Christmas, for the price of $129.99 / €129.99, or rather that's what we assume, since that's the price of the original, black headphone set unveiled last March.

After all, ZOWIE is just offering a new color option, not some super upgrade. Everything we listed above was already there, just the white was missing. We wouldn't be surprised if some customers chose the black over the new one too.

Not that ZOWIE will mind of course. As far as marketing ploys go, adding a color option during the holiday season just to bring people’s attention to an existing product is a pretty standard move.
