14 DAY TRIAL // Hackers of ZCompany Hacking Crew (ZHC) have breached india.gov.in, the National Portal of India. They have posted a message to both the desktop and the mobile version of the site.
“ZHC was here! Owns Indian National portal. It has been 65 years since your invasion of our lands but the fire of freedom still burns in our hearts,” the hackers wrote on the defacement page uploaded to india.gov.in/content/zhc-was-here.
In a statement provided to Softpedia, the hackers clarified that they’re sending a message from the people of Kashmir.
“We will keep transferring this flame to our children, to their children and so on until we get it. No matter how much we pay, our children will take a ‘breath of life’ someday,” ZHC members said.
“This institutionalised impunity with which the killings of civilian by military and police forces in Jammu and Kashmir continues should be source of shame for India which propagates to be a democracy,” they added.
“We don't want war, take back your men, your armies, your tanks and your guns and go back to where you once came from. You can kill us but you cannot kill us all. We shall not give up because giving up is never an option. Free Kashmir!!”
At the time of writing, the files uploaded by the hackers have been removed. However, mirrors of the defacements are available on zone-h.org.
A lot of Indian government websites have been defaced over the past period by hacktivists. The list includes the sites of the state of Rajasthan and the ones of the Assam Rifles (assamrifles.gov.in), one of India’s paramilitary forces.
In late January, ZHC targeted the website of the Pakistani hacker group called Team Madleets. However, Madleets denied that any of their servers had been breached.
