Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 is a video game developed and published by Japanese company Konami exclusively for the Nintendo DS.
As its name says, it is part of the extremely popular Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise and is just one of the many video games that were inspired by the long-running anime and manga series.
The game takes the core elements of the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe, specifically the collection of cards with monsters imprinted on them, and uses them in battles against other people.
Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 was launched in its native Japan on March 15, 2007, followed by North America, on March 20, Europe, on April 27, and Australia, on May 4.
The game, as its predecessors, allows players to construct, organize and duel with challengers by using the stylus to control their virtual actions and characters.
Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 has around 1,000 different cards, and allows for complete customization of a character's deck, as well as the appearance of said player.
Players earn Duel Points (DP) by winning battles, which can then be used to purchase new cards as well as upgrade their current deck, as well as unlock new bonus features.
Players can also engage in special duels, like the limited one, where certain limitations are imposed on the player or his own deck, or puzzles where the player must win a duel in just one turn.
The game also has a multiplayer aspect, thanks to the Nintendo DS' Wi-Fi Connection, allowing players all around the world to battle one another, earning and improving their World Ranking.
Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 also allows cross connection between copies of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller or Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubador, and will unlock bonus characters, clothes and cards between the games.
Issues have been reported with this feature though, as players reported connection problems and the fact that cards traded between titles wouldn't appear when you restarted the game.
