Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's: Reverse of Arcadia, also known as Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship, is a video game developed and published by Japanese company Konami exclusively for the Nintendo DS.
As its name says, it is part of the extremely popular Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise and is just one of the many video games that were inspired by the long running anime and manga series.
The game takes the core elements of the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe, specifically the collection of cards with monsters imprinted on them, and using them in battles against other people.
The game was launched in its native Japan on February 18, 2010, in North America on February 26 and in Europe on March 26.
The game, as its name suggests, is based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime series, more specifically the "Dark Signers" story arc.
It is the sequel to Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Stardust Accelerator, and has two modes, Story and World Championship.
The game has 3965 cards, including series like Egyptian Gods, Speed Spells, Speed World 2 and various other packs like OCG Booster Packs to Absolute Powerforce, Duel Terminals, Structure Decks, and limited edition ones.
Players who want quick games can opt for Turbo Duels which include specialty speed cards, while the gameplay has been tweaked with new obstacles, puzzles and hidden pathways.
The story mode now has a 3D map, in which players can interact with other characters and contront obstacles from the game world.
Like previous World Championship-branded titles, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's: Reverse of Arcadia uses the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection and allows players to challenge other people from around the world, and also see the global leaderboards.
The story mode puts players in the role of a new duelist with an unknown background, who is recruited for the Arcadia movement.
As the player progresses, his memory comes back to him and joins the cast of the anime series against a shady organization called the Dark Signers.
