Just recently, local authorities in Delhi caught two young men while they were trying to find a buyer for a turtle they illegally caught near an Indian village.

Apparently, although the Indian soft-shelled turtle is listed as an endangered species and catching – not to mention trading – representatives of this species is pretty much off limits, some people still consider its meat at delicacy and therefore by-pass national and international laws in order to get their hands on it.

It comes only natural that this has led to the turtle's being threatened with extinction, much like is the case for countless other species that stand at the core of illegal trading activities.

Luckily, the turtle these two young men hid in one of their T-shirts was found by the local police and returned back into the wild.
