Now, it's uncertain why a diver would be more interested in listening to some music on his or her iPod instead of actually becoming one with the undersea landscape; after all, that's why people go scuba diving, aren't they? Well, for whatever reason, H2O has come up with another piece of waterproof technology meant to protect your valuable digital players from the destructive encounter with splashes. Whether you're looking for a gadget to keep your iPod safe during professional scuba dives or feel like listening to some music to mix with the snorkeling, the iDive 300 from H2O is the tool for you.

The H2O iDive 300 is a nifty casing solution that can accommodate quite a lot of iPod models, from the older to the newest ones, including the Touch. It also comes with a processor, helping you interact with your player in the best possible conditions, given the encapsulated state of the iPod.

You get pushbutton control of the click wheel and touchscreen devices, thus being able to use your iPods with ease. The watertight polycarbonate case will keep your iPods safe until you reach a depth of 300 feet (approx 90 meters) and this is a lot if you think about underwater pressure and what it does to the human body.

The H2O iDive 300 comes with over the ear headphones that can be attached to a mask strap or even hidden under a diving hood;

it is further unclear how anyone would listen to music underwater with this over-the-ear technology. In any case, the capsule is also provided with a built-in amplifier delivering you a powerful stereo sound that should allow for an altogether pleasant listening experience during decompression sessions. And in case you plan to watch some movies in the decompression chamber, these headphones will surely pay off.

The protective casing also comes with a lanyard to help you secure it to your body or other gear. The iDive 300 retails for $350.

Interesting. But I don't think to take any supposed-to-be-land-use-only expensive gadget to dive, or may be I would?
Anyway, there's no hurt for extra protection but your pocket. ;)
