The Hacker Academy has published an infographic to provide some interesting statistics that show the need for security awareness.

For instance, did you know that 48% of IT security professionals fix issues caused by end-user negligence every week? Or that two thirds of the data breaches in the last year were a result of human error?

The study also shows that 60% of employees disable the security features installed on corporate devices.

When it comes to small businesses, they’re targeted by 31% of cyberattacks. When such an organization suffers a breach, on average, it costs them $649,000 (€470,000) to clean up the mess.

Phishing attacks are highly problematic these days. Around 33,000 of them are recorded each month and the best way to combat these types of attacks is through security awareness.

Check out the infographic. Additional details on this topic are available on the Hacker Academy’s website.
