Ashley Abbott, how could you?! Eileen Davidson, who stars as Ashley on the hit soap opera “The Young and the Restless” and who’s coming off an Emmy win for her role on another hit show, “Days of Our Lives,” is making the transition to reality television.

She’s not doing one of those popular-nowadays docuseries either, because that wouldn’t be this bad, since they’re considered one step above regular reality shows. The Wrap says she signed on the dotted line to appear on season 5 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills show from Bravo.

That would be one spinoff of the show that, on the season finale, included footage of one of its leading “ladies” removing her prosthetic leg, slamming it on a table in a crowded restaurant, and then throwing it across the room at another woman: Real Housewives of New York.

The trade publication reports that Davidson will join series regulars Brandi Glanville, Kyle Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, Yolanda Foster, and newcomer Lisa Rinna for the new season.

The “Y&R” actress and Rinna will replace Joyce Giraud and Carlton Gebbia, whose contracts weren’t renewed.

Bravo is yet to confirm this officially so, at least for another while, fans can still cling to the hope that it’s just a rumor. There’s no denying that there’s a lot of money in reality television (just look at Kim Kardashian and how far it’s gotten her, if you want an example) but a reality show comes with the downside of chipping away at one’s credibility because of the things that happen on camera.

From where I stand, no Emmy-winning actress who is still getting plenty of work offers should scoop this low as to do a reality show of the Real Housewives-type. Never.

Here’s the leg-tossing moment in all its glory.
