CBS bosses and “The Young and the Restless” producers decided last month to fire Michael Muhney, who has been on the show as Adam Newman since 2009. Despite the report that he was let go because he harassed a female co-star, fans still want him back, it has emerged.

TMZ reports that a group of diehard fans has decided not to take Muhney’s firing without doing their best to let CBS know that they are not happy about it.

So, they raised the money to rent a plane that will fly a banner over CBS Studios in Los Angeles, with the message, “NO ADAM NEWBIE, JUST MICHAEL MUHNEY.” It will be their way of letting studio bosses they’re not ok with having Muhney replaced by some other guy on the role, as is the producers’ intention.

Muhney’s final episode will air on January 30, after which he will be replaced. Reports yesterday claimed that he was fired because he was a complete jerk on set, particularly towards 20-year-old co-star Hunter King, who plays Summer.

He harassed her for a very long time but, when he grabbed and fondled her breasts, she felt like she’d had enough and complained about his behavior. The complaint was the straw that broke the camel’s back, insiders said.

Be that as it may, it looks like fans are not that willing to let Muhney go, despite his allegedly questionable behavior.
