Although koalas are known to be quite aggressive and nasty animals, the baby koala featured in the video included below seems rather friendly and affectionate.

While nature hiking along The Great Ocean Walk in Victoria, Australia, a Canadian tourist enjoyed a once in a lifetime experience – she had the opportunity to hug a baby koala who decided to climb up her leg for a cuddle.

Charli, the woman who appears in the video, explained, “We'd just woken up and were making our way along the path when I spotted this little koala. I couldn't believe how close he got and that's when I turned the video camera on.”

As you can see in the video, the cub hesitates a little bit at first, but the tourist clearly encourages it to climb up, so the adorable animal plucks up courage, goes up her leg and nestles into her arms. The woman's reaction is adorable, as she seems a bit nervous and doesn't know what to do.

She says it was an adorably painful experience, as the koala used his claws to scramble up her leg.

The clip was shot in December 2010 but has only recently started to go viral, with more than 1.6 million views so far.

Experts warn that koalas have sharp teeth and claws that make them dangerous to humans, so they advise people to avoid getting too close to them.
