An eight-year-old boy from Eastern China suffers from an unusual condition that has him covered in scales.

Huffington Post informs that locals from the Wenling province know Pan Xianhang as “Fish Boy.”

He was diagnosed with the condition after he was born, and his disease causes him a great amount of pain.

Xianhang's mother describes that his entire body is covered with scales, which cause overheating and extreme itching.

The congenital disorder is called Ichtyosis and 16,000 babies are born with it every year. It has led to changes in Xianhang's facial features, including his eyelids, nose, and mouth.

He has also experienced motor issues, having trouble moving his arms and legs. According to the Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types, there is no cure for the disease.
