YouTube is prepared to spend big money to get top-talent and production companies to make stuff for the site. Rumors say, it's got hundreds of millions of dollars to spend for professional content.

But, at the same time, it's also looking for amateur video makers and those looking to strike big on the video site and is funding budding film makers in the hopes that it will then recoup its money from advertising.

Now, YouTube is debuting a new program which will help those interested in cooking videos and fitness videos create great content and also provide the video equipment to do it.

"Today we’re kicking off two new YouTube Next Creator Programs to highlight the stars of tomorrow on YouTube today: YouTube Next Chef and YouTube Next Trainer," Austin Lau, from YouTube Creator Programs, wrote.

"Each program will have sixteen participants who take part in a three month virtual class held on Google+ Hangouts," he explained.

"Our chefs and trainers will each receive an equipment kit worth more than $5,000, mentoring from industry leaders, filming and editing lessons and more than $10,000 worth of promotion on YouTube. Here’s more info on each and an introduction from our hosts," he wrote.

YouTube is asking those interested to submit their applications until October 25. YouTube partners in Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States can apply.

YouTube plans to select and announce the winners of the two courses on November 9.

An interesting thing about the new program is that it uses Google+ Hangouts for the courses. While it may seem like a way of promoting one of its products, Hangouts is ideal for what the courses entail and will make it possible for people located around to world to collaborate.
