YouTube is the leader of the online video services because it provides powerful functions to allow you to upload, share and comment videos with friends, family or other members of the community. YouTube was acquired by Google in October 2006 for $1.6 billion, the search giant aiming to improve the service to attract even more popularity and users. The most important update included in the video solution is TestTube, a testing platform inspired by Google's Labs that helps the company test all the new functions before they will be included in the final version of the product.

Although Google's products are web-based and accessible via an online interface, the search giant's employees tried to make them available for multiple platforms and browsers. Some time ago, Google started to develop mobile versions of its solution to allow users to access their e-mail account or calendar directly from their handheld device. Gmail was one of the first services that were available as a mobile version, being followed by News, Calendar and, starting today, YouTube.

The well known mobile phone producer Nokia announced 6 new handheld devices, sustaining they will be all compatible with the YouTube video service provided by Google. Nokia mentioned the users will be able to view YouTube's videos using a special browser included in the phones connected to a mobile version of the video service that will be introduced soon.

"Among the new models from the Finnish-based company is the 3110, which will retail for 150 euros, before subsidies and taxes. The candy-bar type phone has a large screen and big buttons and is part of the series that achieved success with the 3310 phone," Reuters reported.

The phone producer also announced a new multimedia handheld device, N77 that will be released in the second quarter of the year 2007 and will allow owners to watch television broadcast using DVB-H mobile TV services available only in a limited number of countries.
