Different interface for the video player

YouTube is now trying to introduce a different interface for the built-in video player, adding some useful features straight into the clip. According to a post published on Google Blogoscoped's forum by Jacobsd, the interface of the video player brings quite an improved functionality that provides a better navigation among the related clips. "This new player allows you to pick from a bunch of video recommendations and then loads those videos within the same player instead of sending you to YouTube," it was mentioned in the message posted on the forum.

As you can see in the picture attached to the article, the new interface brings the related clips straight into the video player, allowing the user to choose one with ease. This way, the navigation is quite improved and eliminates the loading times of new clips. Some users sustained that this interface was tested a few weeks ago but there is no report or official statement from the online video sharing service.

In the recent period, YouTube was quite well promoted because the parent company Google bundled a lot of new functions that improved the performance of the product. Take for example the Active Sharing function that was first a part of the TestTube labs until last week when it was introduced in the final product. The feature is able to show the current viewers of a certain clip in the right part of the screen. Active Sharing can display up to 25 users and must be enabled from the profile page of every registered member.

A few days ago, YouTube introduced a new program entitled The Sketchies that encourages users to upload their content and participate into this contest created for comedians. The winner of the grand prize receives a contract for a short comedy as well as a trip for two persons.
