Canadian campaign running on YouTube

Olivia Chow, New Democrates member, posted a video on YouTube to require the local authorities to regulate the food industry as more and more cat and dog owners are looking to find other food alternatives. The clips posted on YouTube recorded 1.583 views, 6 comments and was flagged as favorite for 7 times. Although it is not too popular, the video is more and more promoted by several Canadians that were shocked to find out their country doesn't regulate the food industry. According to AllAboutFeed, the Canadians are trying to respond to a massive North American product recall and force the authorities to regulate the industry.

"Olivia Chow of the New Democrates was among the many Canadians who were shocked to learn that unlike the United States and Europe, Canada has no body overseeing pet food production. She therefore launched a minute-long amateur video on the popular website YouTube aiming to get the message out that Canada needs to start regulating the pet food industry. The video asks, "Do you know what your cat ate for breakfast?" and calls on the public to sign a petition urging the government to empower the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to regulate and inspect pet food," the publication reported.

As I said in the past, YouTube is no longer a classic video service because it is now used with a different goal than the one promoted by Google. YouTube tends to become a way to promote your story and fight for your opinions. Remember the story of the woman fighting against leukemia? Well, she finally managed to find a matching donor in Denmark, after the clip posted on YouTube recorded thousands of views and numerous comments. Yep, it seems like YouTube starts saving our lives.
