The authorities are investigating the case to find out who created the clip

Here we go again: a video published on YouTube may cause serious problems for its uploader, after the authorities started an investigation to find its creator. "The Canadian Press" today informed that the video (which was already removed from Google's video sharing service) showed pictures with the Halifax professor, his wife and his two daughters, along with a soundtrack apparently captured from a pornographic video. The clip had approximately 6 minutes and was supposed to show the professor pimping his daughters, Charles Crosby, a Dalhousie University spokesman told "The Canadian Press".

"The video, especially in the context in which it was presented, was disgraceful. It's one thing to attack an individual, but to go after their family is just completely beyond the pale and completely unacceptable. There was a vindictive quality to it and it makes one wonder who was behind it. People are talking about it because it's quite violating."

As I said, the police have already started an investigation to find who's the uploader of the clip, as the video captured the attention quite quickly after a link had been sent to several students.

"The first thing we need to do is to determine whether a criminal offence has taken place. What we have, which is obviously disturbing to the individual, may be something that's more related to civil law", Const. Jeff Carr told "The Canadian Press".

In case a student from the Dalhousie University was involved in the creation of the clip, he'll be probably suspended and moreover, he may be sent to the police, as the professor sustains the clip is a result of his Islamic faith. "It's a hate crime, defamation based on a religion and race", the professor said according to the same source mentioned above.

This is not the first time when a simple YouTube clip can get students into trouble, because numerous other movies published on the famous video sharing service captured the attention and came with serious consequences. Very often, the students who were involved in such clips were suspended, while others were investigated by the police.
