Two owners of Francis Scott Key Family Resort are now using the online video sharing service YouTube to promote their business and attract users to their resort. Jim and Annemarie Dickerson sustained they are looking to host a contest on YouTube to offer the contenders a $1000 prize, a week at the motel and a pass to Trimpers Rides and Amusements as The Daily Times reported. The contest will be available until October 1 and will require the users to upload their own video of Ocean City and their favorite locations of the area. The top 10 clips will be then posted on a public forum and will be judged by 10 other members but the procedure is still in testings.

"Jim and Annemarie Dickerson, owners of the Francis Scott Key Family Resort, are running the "$1,000 Ocean City Maryland YouTube Contest" on the YouTube Web site with support from Trimpers Rides and Amusements, and Seacrets. "It's all about Ocean City and what Ocean City has to offer," said Dickerson according to the same source.

YouTube is the favorable service for all the business owners who are trying to promote their products because the videos are visited by a considerable number of viewers. In the past, YouTube was often used as a promotion tool for several types of cases. For example, the Google product was used by a woman fighting against cancer to inform other members about the treatment and the disease. This case was then followed by a similar one when another woman suffering from leukemia managed to find a matching donor in Denmark using YouTube.

However, the Google service attracts an impressive number of users that are continuously uploading clips, most of them being recorded by them. A recent study revealed that the majority of users are attracted by the homemade clips published by YouTube's registered members.
