YouTube is continuing to expand worldwide. The site is available everywhere, of course, unless it's blocked by the local government, in China, for example, and plenty of other places.
But the main site is designed to serve a global audience, albeit with a big tendency to focus on US content.
This is why YouTube is setting up completely customized versions of the site, catering specifically to the country they're targeted at.
The
latest to join the list is the Philippines, where YouYube has partnered with local broadcasters and music labels to bring original local content to the site.
It will also start surfacing videos that are the most relevant to Filipinos, the ones that are the most popular in the country. Overall, this should make YouTube a much more personal or at least, localized experience in the Philippines.
