Until her new album, “ARTPOP,” drops in stores on November 11, expect to hear more from and of Lady Gaga. Just hours ago, the singer made an appearance at the first edition of the YouTube Music Awards, to perform for her fans.

Of course, she made sure the performance was a memorable one: though her Little Monsters must be accustomed to seeing her in some of the most eccentric outfits out there and doing live shows that stand out as true spectacles, this time, Gaga opted for completely toned down.

That in itself is shocking, if you’ve been following anything about her career.

Dressed in a plaid shirt and a baseball hat and having apparently ditched her wig, Gaga sat down at the piano for a very emotional and powerful performance of a new song off the album, “Dope.”

She cried throughout the song, after kicking it off with a few whispered words of, “this is for my fans” and “this is for my love.” You can see the entire performance above.

This was the first time she performed “Dope” live. Now that’s a special present for fans! Enjoy.
