YouTube has been expanding around the world. As the site is working on getting more professional content, for its biggest markets, it's also working on making online video more accessible to people worldwide.
This is where the new Kenyan YouTube comes in. It's the latest location to get a custom version of the site, complete with custom country domain, youtube.co.ke.
The new homepage surfaces local content and videos that may be of interest to those in Kenya. It should also make local videos available to a global audience.
"We have partnered with local broadcasters and producers to bring content ranging from KBC and NTV news segments to HomeBoyz produced Tinga Tinga Tales to a global audience," Google
explained.
Since internet speeds aren't great in the country, Google advises users to switch to YouTube Feather, the experimental, lightweight version of the site.
